Continuing Medical
Education registered $2.3 billion in revenues in 2006, an
increase of 6 percent over 2005, according to the annual report of
the Chicago-based Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education.
The Massachusetts Convention
Center Authority began considering plans to enlarge the
3-year-old Boston Convention & Exhibition Center this month.
The plan calls for developing 22 vacant acres on the BCEC’s 62-acre
site.
United Airlines will
begin offering lie-flat seats in its international business-class
cabins this fall. The carrier estimates it will take up to two and
a half years to outfit its entire fleet. The new seating will
result in fewer seats, 21 fewer on 747s, which will make snagging
an upgrade even more difficult.
Royal Caribbean will
implement a new nonsmoking policy effective Jan. 1, 2008. The
cruise line will increase its smoke-free areas by designating all
staterooms and one lounge on each of its 21 ships as off-limits to
smokers.
