Meetings & Conventions: Short Cuts November 2000

The numerous handheld computers now available make carrying
information incredibly convenient but entering data on the tiny
devices can get annoying. Relief is here: Palm Pilot fans now can
carry along the collapsible Palm Portable Keyboard
(www.palm.com);
Handspring Visor owners can use the Stowaway Portable
Keyboard (pictured above) from Targus (www.targus.com). Each
product costs $99, weighs 7.9 ounces and opens to the size of a
standard computer keyboard. Each folds up to about the size of the
handheld: 3.6 inches by 5.1 inches.
To use either keyboard, place the handheld in the docking
station and start typing. No extra cables or batteries are needed;
the keyboard runs off the device’s power supply with minimal energy
drain.
