Attention, Discman loyalists: The end
is nigh. The increasingly prevalent iPod continues to show up
everywhere, and forward-thinking hotels are taking note. In what’s
slowly moving from a novelty to a trend, New York City’s Dream
Hotel, Miami’s Hotel Victor, 20 properties in the W line, even the
grande dames of KSL Resorts (such as La Costa Resort & Spa in
Carlsbad, Calif., the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa in Maui
and the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix) all have
added fully loaded iPods to their in-room amenity rosters. Some
properties are outfitting rooms with iPod-ready Bose speakers as
well. And don’t expect ye olde top 40; these mostly ambient tunes
are as hip as their hardware.
