Short
Cuts:On the SpotWhat type of event do you most like to organize?“I enjoy putting on the opening and closing banquets for
our convention. This year, 1,200 people attended the events, which
were held at Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando.”
Donna Kenenski
Finance Manager
Association of Professional Directors of YMCAs in the United
States
Westerly, R.I.
“I enjoy organizing education seminars. Our trade show
and exhibition includes approximately 20 seminars; the speakers are
interesting, and I learn a lot. At the moment, the hot topic is
chronic wasting disease, which affects deer and wild
game.”
Debbie Sinex
Program Specialist
Convention Manager
American Association of Meat Processors
Elizabethtown, Pa.
“To be honest, I don’t enjoy organizing any of them, as
I do not like dealing with hotels. Rates still are too high,
despite the market. I have enjoyed some of the events we’ve had
abroad. Recently, we were at the Hotel Arts in Barcelona. Their
rate was $99.”
David Gray

North Kingstown, R.I.
