Short
Cuts:On the SpotWhat was the most recent musical you saw, and would you
recommend it?“It was Cats, here in Tulsa at the Performing Arts
Center. To be honest, I didn’t like it. The costumes were great,
but I had high expectations because of the fame the musical has,
and it did not live up to them. I did not enjoy the story, and I
think there are much better musicals out there to see
instead.”

“The last musical I saw was Hairspray on Broadway. It
was everything a musical should be fun and entertaining and with
wonderful costumes. I loved the 1960s music, too. Overall, it was
excellent.”

“In Toronto, I saw Mama Mia. ABBA’s music was wonderful,
and I was really interested to see how creatively the show tied all
those famous songs together. Despite the fears of SARS at the time,
the theater was packed 15,000 attendees from the American and
Canadian Library Associations were in town.”
