Style and sexiness prevail at the new
Ritz-Carlton, South Beach (Fla.). Besides attractions such as a
restaurant by New York City’s David Bouley and luxury cabanas,
complete with beds, on the beach, the hotel is pioneering two new
concepts.
Guests who want to avoid the burn can flag down a “tanning
butler” who wanders the pool deck wearing designer swimwear and
carrying a basket of SoBe Sun tanning products. Butlers are happy
to apply any potency of sunblock to guests’ backs.
Four evenings a week, the hotel hosts a colorful throwback to
the 1940s, when a company of bathing beauties (above) march into
the pool and put on a synchronized swimming routine à la Esther
Williams. (786) 276-4000; www.ritz-carlton.com
