Meetings & Conventions: Short Cuts June 2001

June 2001
Short Cuts:
Who will prevail in the lap of luxury?
Survivor III: Daufuskie Isle
First the game was played on a remote island off the coast of
Borneo, then in the Australian Outback, and now Survivor-type
competitors are roughing it at the plush Daufuskie Island Resort,
off the coast of Hilton Head, S.C. In this unofficial, nontelevised
version of the game, groups of 25 or more take the one- to
three-day challenge, featuring team-building exercises for which
“tribes” earn points. Some key differences: There’s plenty of food,
and teams “voted off” the island actually get to stay for the final
night’s beachside oyster roast and lobster boil. (800) 960-9089; www.daufuskieresort.com
