| On the case: Skooba Checkthrough |
Laptop-toting travelers no longer need go through the hassle of removing their computers from carry-ons at airport security checkpoints -- provided their cases meet new guidelines established by the Transportation Security Administration.
The rules essentially prohibit computer bags with zippers, straps or pockets that potentially could interfere with a clear scan of the laptop.
Brands such as Aerovation, CODi, Skooba, Targus and Tom Bihn all sell the new checkpoint-friendly bags that conform to the guidelines. Designs include butterfly and trifold styles. Prices generally range from $100 to $225.
