The Power of Feint Praise
Nothing quite satisfies like a good sword fight, and at New York
City’s Metropolis Fencing, swashbucklers compete in matches
overseen by Olympic champions-turned-coaches. The idea might seem
merciless, but the moral is elegant: Etiquette triumphs in the face
of adversity. “Regardless of who wins, you always shake hands with
your opponent,” says manager Georgine Longenbach.
Metropolis trains groups of up to 50 during daylong sessions.
Motivational speakers and catering services also can be provided.
