Toronto
The artsy Distillery Historic District
Affectionately dubbed T.O. by natives, Canada’s largest city has
a similarly simple request: Come.
With SARS fears over, Toronto is in high gear, sprucing up
meetings hotels like the Delta Chelsea and Le Royal Meridien King
Edward, while the new Soho Metropolitan opened earlier this
year.
Both the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario
debuted ambitious, multi-year expansion plans.
Also, a sprawling 19th-century brick distillery is now the
arts-centric Distillery Historic District, complete with strollable
cobblestone walkways and a funky consortium of galleries and
nightspots. You heard it here first: This is the next hot
neighborhood, and much of the distinctive space can host
groups.
