Meetings & Conventions: Short Cuts October 1999

October 1999
Short Cuts:WEB SITES WE LIKE
Now open for business. Using some of the cool
functionality the Web has to offer, the Philadelphia Convention and
Visitors Bureau (www.pcvb.org) has unveiled a new site for
meeting planners where a live salesperson monitors who is viewing
the site and can conduct a real-time dialogue with visitors. The
chat function is built into the Web site with iContact.com
software. the CVB's staff member helps visitors navigate the site,
finds what they're looking for easily and answers any questions
that might come up. Other new features on the site are up-to-date
information on hotel inventory and development, a constantly
updated convention calendar, an online RFP and a sophisticated,
citywide search engine.
I'll get my own plane, thanks. Planners
interested in chartering planes can check out aircraft, find
airports and make reservations at AirCharter.com (www.aircharter.com).
