Meetings & Conventions: Short Cuts November 2000

November 2000
Short Cuts:WEB SITES WE LIKE
Group adventure. The adventure travel site GORP
(www.gorp.com) has
launched a spin-off for groups. GORPgroups (www.gorpgroups.com)
recommends ways to add adventure to meetings and offers information
on unique destinations and travel deals. Included are suggestions
for retreats, incentive trips and team-building programs. The site
also offers an online request for proposal form. Planners can
register for a weekly newsletter highlighting special offers.
Diners’ delight. Over decades, Jane and Michael
Stern, authors of Eat Your Way Across the U.S.A. (Broadway
Books, New York City, $15), have eaten in just about every diner in
the country. Their Web site, Road Food (www.roadfood.com),
offers recent reviews and a search engine to help travelers find
fun food.
