An Unexpected Meetings Destination

Every destination has a story and Oklahoma City's story is defined by an openness and enterprising nature. True to its frontier roots, Oklahoma City embodies the spirit of adventure with a welcoming atmosphere. And, with an all-new convention scene on the rise, Oklahoma City offers the whole package for meetings and conventions of all sizes. From a new state-of-the-art convention center, Omni headquarter hotel, brand new Downtown Park and modern streetcar system to a booming culinary and arts scene-there's never been a better time to be in Oklahoma City.

The $288 million downtown convention center is expected to open late 2020. The Oklahoma City Convention Center will offer 275,000 square-feet of dedicated meeting space with an additional 65,000 square-feet of additional useable event space. Directly adjacent to the convention center will be a new 605-room Convention Center headquarter hotel from Omni Hotel & Resorts-opening in 2021. Omni will offer an additional 78,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, seven dining outlets and an expansive pool deck with event space. Last fall, Oklahoma City also opened a portion of the all-new 70-acre Scissortail Park which sits just west of the Convention Center. The park offers attendees a variety of recreation activities, including concerts, walking/biking/running trails, picnic sites, sports fields, play areas, interactive water features and more.

The modern OKC Streetcar links the downtown convention center complex with more than six miles of major attractions, restaurants and districts. With nearly 5,000 downtown hotel rooms by spring 2021 and more than 18,000 city-wide, Oklahoma City offers a broad range of affordable accommodations within walking distance of the convention center and the Bricktown Entertainment District.

If you're wondering what you'll do when you're not taking advantage of all that's new, there's plenty of unique experiences happening all over the city, many just steps away from downtown. Grab your group and head to Oklahoma City's Boathouse District where you can take on one of the only urban whitewater rafting courses of its kind, keep the adrenaline pumping and go rock climbing inside a grain silo, grab a water taxi and see the sights of Bricktown, learn about the city's past and their resilience at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, or see the culture of the city and see one of the largest collections of Dale Chihuly at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.

Whether you're looking for that sleek modern edge of a city or a true-to-its-roots destination, Oklahoma City blends both for an overall cultural experience that both planners and attendees are drawn to. Come see all of the progress our city has made and choose Oklahoma City for your next meeting destination.
