Sea-loving guests at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing,
N.Y., can lace up their Sperry Top-Siders and learn to sail across
Lake George as part of a new team- building activity.
Collaboration is key when crews of up to 20 learn to maneuver
high-performance, 26-foot vessels. Lessons address stealing wind
from opponents, the importance of eyeing the competition and the
secrets to sharing responsibility, says the resort’s managing
director, Lee Bowden.
To test participants, instructors arrange a series of races
across Lake George’s picturesque Paradise Bay or The Narrows.
Steve and Doris Colgate’s Offshore Sailing School at The
Sagamore is in operation from April to October. Special packages
designed for corporate outings are available. (800) 358-3585;
