Dream Hotel Group, which currently operates 17 properties globally and has more than 30 additional projects in the near-term pipeline, has signed agreements to develop hotels in Mexico and Belize. The lodging company has plans to open Dream Belize and Unscripted Belize, as well as Unscripted Tulum in Mexico's Riviera Maya.
The 24-cabana Unscripted Belize will be the first to debut when it opens late this year. The open-air, beachfront boutique property will have an outdoor restaurant and bar, a large pool area, and private boats for diving and snorkeling excursions.
Dream Belize, which is planned for a 2020 debut, will have 100 guest rooms and suites as well as 120 hotel condo units and 40 branded residential home sites. Amenties will include four restaurant and nightlife options, a luxury spa and fitness center, and multiple co-working sites.
Both properties will be in the Kanantik Belize master-planned community, just north of Placencia. Kanantik is surrounded by palm trees on 5,800 acres in Southern Belize, adjacent to the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. "There is something truly special about Belize," said Kevin Rohani, vice president of development for Dream Hotel Group. "We are delighted to work with Luke [Chadwick, owner and developer of Kanantik Belize] to bring our energetic properties and world-class food-and-beverage offerings to market in Belize, which is currently seeing an amazing spike in growth."
The 97-room Unscripted Tulum, which also will debut in 2020, will be the hotel group's first property in Mexico. Among the plans for that hotel are two pools, an open-air dining experience, and a spa-and-wellness center. Three rooftop areas will accommodate a restaurant, a bar and a lounge area that can accommodate yoga and meditation sessions.
Dream Hotels and Unscripted are two of the company's four brands, which also include Time and the Chatwal. The hotel group intends to open 30 hotels in the next four years, representing all four of its brands.
