Marriott International launched a new planner portal this week at The new site offers a variety of tools intended to help inspire, plan, shop and book meetings at the hotel company's properties. To start, Marriott's Meeting Purpose Methodology is designed to walk planners through the process of defining goals and designing the meeting. An Inspiration Gallery offers thousands of set-up, food-and-beverage, and d├ęcor images, while tips and tricks are offered via contributed articles from industry experts. The planner can then browse Marriott properties by brand, country, hotel, meeting size or amenities; participating brands include JW Marriott, Autograph Collection, Renaissance, Marriott Hotels, Gaylord and Courtyard.

"After thoroughly researching and analyzing over 40,000 meetings and events," noted Brian King, global officer of Marriott Signature Brands and global sales, "we discovered that today's meeting attendees are looking for something that goes beyond 'a meeting' and creates an experience where people feel connected, inspired and accomplished. Meeting planners and attendees alike told us a fresh and disruptive point of view in the meetings and conventions industry was desperately needed."
