Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announced plans yesterday to open the Rosewood Mandarina in Mexico's Riviera Nayarit region in 2019. The 130-room property will be Rosewood Rosewood's fifth in Mexico. The site, on Mexico's Pacific Coast, is 30 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport and in a region that provides three diverse environments: the beach, the lowlands and the highlands, each offering unique activities for groups.

Rosewood Mandarina will offer 130 guest rooms, suites and villas with panoramic views of the scenic region's mountains and oceanside. Plans call for three restaurants and bars, including a speciality restaurant and sunset bar, as well as more informal options such as a pool grill and a beach bar. The resort will offer three pools, a fitness center and a spa with 10 treatment rooms, plus event space.

"Rosewood is excited to expand our brand further into Mexico, a leading destination for luxury travelers today," said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group. "With all the natural beauty and adventure that Riviera Nayarit has to offer, Mandarina will effortlessly embody the brand's 'A Sense of Place' philosophy."

Rosewood Mandarina will join a regional network of distinctive Rosewood properties in Mexico and Central America, including Rosewood Mayakoba; Rosewood San Miguel de Allende; Las Ventanas al Paraíso, a Rosewood Resort; and Rosewood Puebla, which will open in 2017.
