The 213-room Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio has unveiled a $1.6 million renovation and expansion of its luxury suites. The boutique property's four junior suites were totally redone, and nine of the larger guest rooms were converted into executive king suites.

For the junior suite renovations, the bathrooms were revamped, new furniture was brought in and coffee bars were added. The new executive king suites come in three layouts and feature new furnishings, additional seating and redesigned closets. Also part of the project, the hotel's fitness center was redone with the installation of new equipment, flooring and a wall of floor-to-ceiling mirrors.

"This renovation and expansion of our suites provides additional incentives to attract meeting planners and traveling professional sports teams to stay at our property," said Trent Freeman, general manager of the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. "The new décor and furnishings are truly top of the line. Expanding our suite offerings to a total of 15 luxury suites offers guests a wider range of indulgent accommodations."

The property blends Spanish Colonial touches with modern Mediterranean design on a quiet curve of San Antonio's River Walk, a short stroll from the more bustling end of the waterway. More than 7,000 square feet of meeting space awaits groups, and Dorrego's Restaurant serves Argentinian fare. A wine bar, Narranjo's, pours vintages by the bottle, glass or flight, and the Lobby Living Room presents live music by flamenco guitarist Randy Cordero.
