Yesterday[tues], Cvent, a provider of meetings technology, acquired CrowdCompass, a developer of mobile apps for business and association events. This is the second app developer bought by Cvent in as many weeks; last week, the company acquired Seed Labs, a developer known for its apps for festivals and other large consumer events. CrowdCompass specializes in building native apps for a variety of devices, principally on the iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry platforms. "We have offered mobile-friendly event web sites for some time," Cvent founder and CEO Reggie Aggarwal noted, "but the CrowdCompass product takes the mobile experience to the next level." CrowdCompass clients have included E*Trade, Daimler, Intuit and The Meetings Technology Expo.
