At the Global Business Travel Association Convention this week, meetings-technology provider Lanyon unveiled new features and functionality to its Smart Events Cloud. Among other updates, the platform is now more flexible, allowing planners to use any combination of modules for their meetings. New Salesforce integration provides marketing teams with improved insight into customer and prospect behavior, and potentially more data for measuring event return on investment.

Newly updated Lanyon Mobile functionality now offers single sign-on and the ability to sync meetings and sessions easily between the Lanyon Meetings and Events modules and the app. The app offers improved scheduling capabilities for attendees, as well.

The integration with Passkey's housing functionality, which Lanyon acquired two years ago, also has been improved. Registrants can now see hotel photos, rates and availability, and even book a room, directly from the registration page. Reporting also has been made more robust, allowing planners to pull all meetings data from a single reporting engine.

No new information is available concerning Lanyon's relationship with Cvent, which was acquired in April by Lanyon's parent company, Vista Equity Partners. The deal potentially could close this fall, although the U.S. Department of Justice has yet to approve the sale.
