Sciensio's Concierge Eventbot was presented with the IBTM World Tech Watch Award yesterday at IBTM World in Barcelona, Spain. The recognition is yet another accolade for the young company, which also took top honors for #IMEXPitch, an innovative tech showcase held at IMEX America in October of this year.
Specializing in customer-relationship building through the use of messaging platforms, Sciensio and its Concierge Eventbot is a chatbot designed specifically for use at conferences, exhibitions and events. Attendees can get information from the bot via an event web page or through Messenger, SMS, Telegram or Twitter apps; the attendee chooses the most convenient communication medium. By simply texting questions, attendees can get information concerning programming, location, logistics, WiFi networks and more.
Sciensio was one of three winners, as the competition was broken down into three categories this year. Its Concierge Eventbot was both the overall winner and the winning submission for the Audience Engagement category. SharedXP Limited, a crowdsourcing and crowd-voting platform for content development, took top honors in the Logistics and Production category. And Conference Pulse, which uses sales and marketing intelligence to help secure sponsors, speakers and venues, was named the winner of the Management and Marketing category.

"We had an incredibly strong field of entries this year, making it a challenging task to decide on the winner," said judging committee chair Corbin Ball. "Sciensio and its Concierge Eventbot have proven great tenacity and innovation in helping the events industry stay ahead of the curve with regard to effective customer engagement, sitting at the heart of every successful business in this industry and beyond."
Sciensio is emblematic of two trends in event technology, Ball added - chatbots, and the use of artificial intelligence to fine-tune their effectiveness and usefulness.
The winning companies - along with all of the finalists - are showcasing their technology in the Innovation Zone at IBTM World, which runs through today.
