An “aqua banquet”
at the Newport Aquarium
Just south of
Cincinnati, the cities of Newport and Covington, Ky., are
booming. One reason is the new pedestrian Purple People Bridge,
which links Ohio to Newport’s newly hip Levee neighborhood.
Since its inception in 2001, the Levee
has been steadily adding new restaurants, retail, nightlife and
attractions such as the Newport Aquarium and a German beer hall,
Hofbrauhaus; both cater to large groups.
In Covington, the North-ern Kentucky
Convention Center upgraded its 46,200-square-foot exhibition hall
last summer, while the 194-room Courtyard Cincinnati Covington
Hotel revamped its guest rooms and meeting space.
