Auro Hotels has announced plans to bring South Carolina's first JW Marriott hotel to downtown Greenville. The 335-room property, planned for the historic Bowater Building along the Reedy River, is part of the proposed Falls Park Conference District, a 6-acre mixed-use development.
The hotel, being developed through a partnership of Auro Hotels, the city of Greenville and The Furman Co., will feature a state-of-the-art fitness center, four food-and-beverage concepts, the brand's signature JW Garden, an executive lounge, more than 8,800 square feet of meeting and event space and outdoor terraces overlooking the river. The property is expected break ground in mid-2027.
JW Marriott Greenville will provide direct access to Falls Park, one of the city's most popular public spaces. Plans also call for an elevated pedestrian bridge connecting the hotel and proposed conference center, creating a seamless link between meetings, hospitality offerings and downtown Greenville.
The district is expected to help Greenville attract larger meetings, conventions and corporate events while boosting year-round visitation. Local leaders expect the project to support hospitality jobs, drive visitor spending and generate additional tax revenue that can be invested in infrastructure and community improvements.
The project also marks a milestone for Auro Hotels, representing the company's seventh property in Greenville and sixth in downtown.
