The 519-room JW Marriott Tampa, which will be built near the Tampa Convention Center and the Amalie Arena, is set to open in 2020. The property will be part of the $3 billion Water Street Tampa downtown neighborhood, currently under development by Strategic Property Partners. The 26-story hotel have will 126,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 30,000-square-foot ballroom, said to be the largest hotel ballroom in Tampa Bay, and will offer a lobby-level restaurant. Further amenities include an expansive spa and fitness center, a pool and another restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.
