The first phase of a $250 million expansion and renovation has been completed at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa in Florida. Among the renovations are upgraded restaurants, expanded pool decks, a refurbished lobby and redesigned guest rooms, which now feature new furnishings and larger showers and vanities. The second phase of the project, which will be completed in December 2016, will add new meeting space and an exhibit hall. Also, a new 94-room adults-only tower with a rooftop pool, a restaurant branded by a celebrity chef, and a 12,000-square-foot entertainment center will be added. These expansions and enhancements are part of the plan to convert the property to a JW Marriott in 2017. Upon completion, the resort will have 100,000 square feet of event space and 810 guest rooms.
