A new Marriott hotel is coming to downtown Louisville, Ky., in 2019. Actually, it's two Marriott hotels: Hotel Distil, which will be part of Marriott's Autograph Collection of independent properties, and Moxy Louisville, a member of Marriott's brand is aimed toward younger travelers. The 315-room dual-branded property will be in Louisville's historic and revitalized Whiskey Row neighborhood.
Hotel Distil will have 205 rooms and more than 7,500 square feet of meeting space, along with a signature restaurant and a rooftop bar. The property will celebrate Main Street's history in the bourbon industry by preserving the building's original 1860s façade, when the site housed the barrelhouse for J.T.S. Brown and Sons, now part of the Brown-Forman Corp., owner of brands such as Jack Daniel's, Woodford Reserve, Finlandia, Korbel and Chambord, among others.
"We are delighted to see this historic site reimagined for our guests," said Brian Povinelli, senior vice president and global brand leader of the Autograph Collection Hotels. "With its storied history, Hotel Distil champions Autograph Collection Hotels' brand values of vision, design, and craft."
Moxy Louisville will have 110 guest rooms and an "industrial chic" aesthetic, with in-room features such as platform beds, peg walls instead of closets, and motion-sensor lighting.
