The Vault bar at the newly renovated Kimpton Monaco Salt Lake City
The 225-room Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City has completed an extensive, four-month renovation. The hotel now offers a clean and updated aesthetic throughout.
Housed in Salt Lake City’s Continental Bank building, which opened in 1928, the hotel's redesign was led by Los Angeles-based Beleco, which worked with a neutral color palette of grey, blue, cream and white, with pops of more vibrant colors, especially in the guest rooms.
“Beyond cosmetic changes, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City has undergone a complete transformation,” said Nathan Sporbert, the hotel’s general manager. “Every corner of the property has been thoughtfully revitalized not only to enhance the historically aesthetic charm, but also to elevate the comfort and functionality. We are looking forward to our guests’ exploration of our entirely reimagined space.”
The food-and-beverage outlets also were part of the project. The signature restaurant, Bambara, serves a modern take on traditional European fare with an emphasis on local, seasonal ingredients; its new ambience is marked by chic black and white décor and wood tables. Next door to Bambara is the Vault, with a mahogany bar, which offers craft cocktails in an intimate setting. The hotel’s 3,100 square feet of natural light–filled meeting space was included in the renovation.
