The Westin Denver Downtown has completed a propertywide, multimillion-dollar renovation aiming to transform the hotel's guest experience. The project added two more guest rooms, a new lobby space with a living wall and a grand staircase, and a new meeting space with floor-to-ceiling windows.
“The Westin Denver Downtown has been a pillar of the Denver hospitality landscape since opening in the 1980s. Today, we’re thrilled to unveil this expansive renovation which redefines the guest experience,” said general manager Jerry Caliguire.
The new living wall behind an expansive sofa pays homage to the hotel’s commitment to sustainability, even as it improves the air quality of the building by reducing carbon dioxide and particulate pollution by 21 percent. The new grand staircase in the lobby leads to the meeting level above and provides an iconic location for event photos.
The property now offers 432 rooms and suites, all offering city or mountain views. In addition to new sleek, modern amenities and hardwood floors, the design features relaxing neutral and blue hues as well as the debut of the Westin Heavenly 2.0 bed. The luxury suites and patio rooms feature sliding glass doors that open to large, private outdoor spaces.
As part of the renovations, the Westin Denver Downtown added a 3,000-square-foot, lobby-level meeting space with wall-to-wall windows for a total of nearly 39,000 square feet of meeting space. The open-air pool deck with great views of the skyline also is available for events.
Guests who want to stay on track with their fitness programs can avail themselves of Tuesday and Thursday runs guided by a local team member, and yoga classes on Saturday mornings. Or they can tap into the hotel's gear-lending program to borrow massage rollers, in-room weights and more. The WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio offers Peloton and Bala equipment, and there is a heated rooftop pool for laps and lounging.
Led by Executive Sous Chef Myke Rogers, on-property dining offers a modern atmosphere and features a new fireplace in V's Lounge, serving full-service breakfast, lunch and dinner. A new menu will showcase Colorado cuisine and local vendors, as well as rotating selections of craft beer and an in-house barrel-aged whiskey.
