Richard Green to Retire from Marriott

Richard Green, Marriott's vice president of association sales and industry relations, will retire at the end of the year. Green has worked for Marriott International for 26 years. "To many customers and industry organizations, Richard is the 'face of Marriott,'" noted the company's senior vice president of global sales, David Townshend. "We will all miss his genuine passion for our business, and the dedication and commitment that he demonstrates each and every day." Green, a respected fixture at industry events, currently serves on the ASAE Board of Directors and has served on the PCMA Board of Directors. He chaired the Destination Marketing Association International Foundation and the ASAE Foundation Board, and served on the boards of the AMC Institute, the Exhibition Industry Foundation and the Center for Association Leadership. He also was the first commissioner for the CIC's Accepted Practices Exchange. Green began his career with Marriott as a front desk clerk at the Denver Marriott Southeast.
