The Wick Hotel, a boutique property with 55 guest rooms, will open this fall in Hudson, N.Y. The Tribute Portfolio property, a Starwood brand now owned by Marriott, will be housed in an 1860s building that first served as a factory that made candles and soap, and later as a textile manufacturing plant and knitting mill.
The new hotel will draw upon the building's heritage throughout the exterior and interior design with details that evoke the spirit of the city of Hudson and honor its industrial history. The historic-preservation project has been nominated to the national and state historic registers.
For groups and guests, the hotel will have an intimate lobby bar and lounge, one conference room and a rooftop event space with views of New York's scenic Hudson Valley.
"The Wick team is building strong relationships with our neighbors, the local Hudson and Columbia County communities, as we maintain the mid-19th century roots and historic nature of the property," said Tom Rossi, principal of the property's developer, Redburn Development. "Tribute Portfolio is the perfect partner as we transform this remarkable Hudson building to an adaptive re-use hotel, and we are confident that our guests will appreciate the spirit of independence while benefitting from Marriott's award-winning loyalty programs."
