Virgin Hotels is expanding its footprint with a new property in the Big Easy. The 238-room Virgin Hotels New Orleans is scheduled to open on Sept. 6, in the city's Central Business District.
The hotel will offer more than 10,000 square feet of meetings space. A rooftop pool and lounge are also expected, along with multiple food-and-beverage outlets. The centerpiece restaurant, Commons Club, will serve creative takes on contemporary American dishes.
Logan Killen Interiors, a New Orleans-based firm, will incorporate Art Deco aspects and design elements inspired by the city into the hotel's interior.
"With Virgin Group's rich history in the music industry and our passion for food and culture, New Orleans is a natural fit for the expansion of the Virgin Hotels brand," said James Bermingham, CEO of Virgin Hotels. "Each of our hotels is rooted in the communities we serve, and Virgin Hotels New Orleans is no exception. We're inspired by the city's vibrant culture and have created a hotel that celebrates the local art, design and music in a uniquely Virgin way."
