Now open in Music City's Gulch neighborhood is the W Nashville. The 14-story property has 286 guest rooms and 60 suites, the most of any hotel in the city.

Each guest room features original artwork that celebrates the city's rich music scene. In addition, a Jimi Hendrix mural adorns the building's facade and the interiors are outfitted with hand-stitched leather wall panels featuring roses and guitar picks.

"Authenticity was at the heart of this project," said David Tessier, president of Hospitality Gaming Advisors, which handled the design. "Every decision and choice we and our collaborators made on design, materials, finishes and art took this into consideration. As a result, the hotel has a very tactile quality and at every turn there is something visually provocative."

For planners, the W Nashville offers 24,000 square feet of meetings space, including a 9,000-square-foot pool deck. The hotel is also home to seven food-and-beverage outlets. Among them are two restaurants from award-winning chef Andrew Carmellini, along with a rooftop bar and artisan coffee shop.
