The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa's new all-glass oceanfront event venue, the Grand Ocean Terrace, will open in June. The final piece of the South Carolina resort's $40 million renovation, the Grand Ocean Terrace offers unobstructed ocean views elevated above beach level. Its more than 5,000 square feet of space can accommodate up to 400 guests, with glass walls sliding open to a full-length covered balcony.
"Our region is steeped in history and tradition," says Kelly Caron, designer of the Grand Ocean Terrace. "Its mesmerizing beauty is one of the most distinct in the world, and we've channeled all those elements into this space."
The resort's recent renovation saw updates to guest rooms, suites and public spaces. Upgrades to the approximately 39,000 square feet of meeting and event space included enhanced WiFi and digital signage. The property features 19 meeting rooms, including a 13,200-square-foot grand ballroom and a 5,800-square-foot dedicated beachfront event deck.
"Though we recently completed a renovation, the opening of the Grand Ocean Terrace is the next evolution in our world-class property," says general manager Tim Freisen. "This space is more than a venue -- it's a game changer."
