A rendering of the new Hyatt Regency Frisco hotel, opening June 1 in Texas
As Texas continues its process of reopening following the COVID-19 shutdown, Frisco will welcome the 303-room Hyatt Regency Frisco at Stonebriar Centre on June 1. The new hotel is attached to the Stonebriar Centre mall, with access from the shopping center's second floor between Nordstrom and Dillard's.
Among the amenities will be two restaurants and a large lobby bar, as well as a 27,500-square-foot conference center that features the 12,330-square-foot Regency Ballroom and 3,900-square-foot Junior Ballroom. A 3,000-square-foot satellite location of the Frisco Public Library will offer great reads to hotel guests as well as city residents. Also nearby is the only U.S. location of Kidzania, an experiential and educational "city" role-playing space built for children ages 4-17.
"Frisco is a modern city brimming with attractions, and the new Hyatt Regency Frisco will reflect this contemporary mindset," said developer Daniel Moon of the Sam Moon Group. "It's hard to imagine that this bustling city was once a dusty cattle-drive trail that was later transformed by the railroad through the North Texas plains, and now it's a tourist destination renowned for shopping, stadiums, conventions and entertainment. Our hotel will celebrate the spirit of this vibrant community."
Frisco is brimming with sports opportunities for visitors, as seven teams -- including the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, soccer's FC Dallas and baseball's Double-A Frisco RoughRiders -- are headquartered in town, as are two stadiums and the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Other nearby attractions for groups are the iFly Dallas indoor skydiving venue and the Frisco Discovery Center.
