Yesterday, the 100-room Cloudveil, an Autograph Collection hotel from Marriott, was unveiled in the center of Jackson Hole, Wy., a top-notch Western-adventure destination. The name comes from Cloudveil Dome, a peak in the Teton Range and part of Grand Teton National Park.
The design of the property was chosen to reflect the town's history and natural setting, using stone, wood, metals and many other natural materials. A 3,000-pound boulder serves as the front desk near a three-story granite wall and a large lobby fireplace.
The Bistro eatery and bar is the brainchild of restaurateurs Gavin Fine and Roger Freedman of the Fine Dining Restaurant Group, presenting Parisian brasserie-style dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For relaxation after long fun days outdoors, there is an outdoor pool and a state-of-the-art fitness center featuring Peloton, Lululemon Fitness Mirror and Technogym equipment. Groups can gather in the 7,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, which includes a 5,000-square-foot open-air rooftop terrace overlooking Jackson Hole's Town Square and Snow King Mountain. Daybreak yoga and meditation, live music, and stargazing often are on the program there.
The Cloudveil's guest rooms also feature the natural, neutral palette, using custom-cut oak beams and leather furnishings, with landscape-inspired artwork and photography from Jackson Hole natives. All guest rooms have smart TVs, plush robes and Grown Alchemist luxury bath products, and on each floor there is a "Pantry" offering a curated selection of complimentary local snacks and beverages.
The hotel's concierges — the Pathfinders — curate itineraries and adventures for guests.
