Omni Hotels & Resorts has broken ground on the 330-room Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU, which will debut in 2023 on the Arizona State University campus.
“The city of Tempe and ASU have created an excellent environment for students, visitors and locals, and we are thrilled to be a part of this exciting time of growth and change in the Tempe community,” said Peter Strebel, president of the hotel company. "We look forward to bringing an entirely new hospitality and meetings experience to the city that will further put Tempe on the map as a destination.”
The $125 million hotel is part of a public-private partnership with ASU and the city. Omni will develop the hotel in collaboration with a team of seasoned hospitality professionals, including architects C+TC Design Studio, general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie, and interior designers Monogram at BBGM. The hotel will offer 11 suites, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail space, and nearly 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space with views of the campus and the cityscape.
Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU will be a lifestyle hotel, reflective of its natural surroundings and the unique Arizona culture. The design elements aim to highlight the local and cultural landscape, integrating ASU’s modern, industrial feel with rich desert hues.
The four culinary outlets will serve unique and locally inspired cuisine, from a coffee bar that evolves into a cocktail bar by night, to a pool bar with views of the Tempe skyline. A rooftop restaurant and lounge will feature indoor and outdoor seating.
For gatherings, the property will offer a board room, two ballrooms and an event lawn, allowing participants to flow from indoor to outdoor areas. In the plans is the largest ballroom in Tempe, at more than 15,000 square feet with high ceilings and a neutral color palette.
