Meeting Professionals International and the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals have announced a new partnership that will focus on event education and collaboration to help diversify the events industry and uplift black meeting professionals.
Through the partnership, NCBMP members will gain access to MPI benefits, including member rates for MPI events, education and certification programs. The two organizations will also work together on education at key events and quarterly, combined road shows.
"Collectively, we will leverage each other's resources to better prepare our members to reflect a more equitable workforce by providing access to education despite market segments," said Jason Dunn, chair of NCBMP and group vice president of diversity sales and inclusion at the Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau. "NCBMP and MPI are breaking barriers by providing a platform for shared experiences, best practices and empowering our members to be competitive. In short, we are equally investing in the professional development of our membership."
The new partnership builds on MPI's efforts to grow its offerings for special interests groups in the meetings industry, such as through the recently launched MPI Communities. It also follows a collaboration between MPI and the American Society of Association Executives that was announced last month.

"The partnership with NCBMP is another example of how MPI is working to personalize the experience for every member, and we look forward to this and other partnerships that support diversity."
