Los Angeles Convention Center to Begin $10 Million Upgrade

The Los Angeles Convention Center will begin a $10 million upgrade next month that will include a new energy-efficient solar-ready roof on the South Hall and Concourse Hall, new carpeting, an overhaul of the parking systems, a remodel of the 299-seat theater, new energy-efficient air handling units, upgraded air walls, upgrades to the IT infrastructure and new lighting systems. The facility also is preparing for its first expansion in more than 20 years, either as part of the development of a new stadium or as a stand-alone project. The plan will be determined later this year, pending a decision on whether the city is awarded a professional football team.
