CENTER REOPENS
The Judson F. Williams Convention Center reopened in May, following
a $23 million overhaul and expansion. The 30-year-old facility now
offers 97,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space. Adjacent is
the 2,500-seat Abraham Chavez Theatre...The city named William
Blaziek, a former executive at the Atlantic City Convention and
Visitors Authority, as the general manager of the El Paso CVB as
well as the convention complex.

DEBATE ON NEW HOTEL
A positive phase-one feasibility study means Columbus will look
further into the building of a headquarters hotel...The Jack
Nicklaus Museum opened in May on the Ohio State University campus.
Named for the golf legend and Buckeye alumnus, the
24,000-square-foot facility will host functions...Several group
venues soon will open in the Hartman Building, formerly a hotel. A
first-floor restaurant will be complemented by The Loft and a
ballroom, both for special events.
