ON LOCATION:
Cleveland
Pyramid scheme: A shrine to rock and roll
The city’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has surpassed
the baseball and football halls in yearly admissions to become the
most-visited facility of its kind in the country. The venue can be
rented for evening receptions of up to 2,500, but please don’t
spill any drinks on Carl Perkins’ blue suede shoes.
The Cleveland Convention & Visitors Bureau provides groups
of up to 500 with complimentary “meeting ambassadors” who act as
liaisons with suppliers, offer tips and cut through red tape.
On the hotel front, the elegant 300-room InterContinental Hotel
& Conference Center opened in April near University Circle,
with 35,000 square feet of event space and a 500-seat theater with
high-speed Internet access.
