Crystal Award Winners Named
The 2001 Crystal Awards, sponsored by the
Society of Incentive & Travel Executives and honoring the
year’s best incentive programs, have been awarded in the following
categories.
• Most creative use of an incentive program to
solve a marketing problem: First place went to Eugene de Villiers,
managing director of Ellerslie, New Zealand-based The Extra Mile
Co. Ltd. In second place: William Bryson, president of MotivAction
LLC in Minneapolis.
• Promotion and communication: In first place
was Mark Jarrell, president of The Meeting Architects in San
Francisco. Michael Hadlow, president of USMotivation in Atlanta,
took second place.
• Trip delivery: Penny Wing, president of San
Diego-based Incentive Travel Inc., and Glen Byrom, managing
director of Harare, Zimbabwe-based Green Route, shared first place.
In second place was Charles Imbacher, managing director of
Worldspan International in Zurich, Switzerland.
• Most outstanding single event: Harith
Wickrema, president of Oreland, Pa.-based Harith Productions Ltd.,
placed first; MotivAction’s William Bryson was the second-place
winner.
