Home sweet Homestead: New, cozy meeting space
Deep in Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains on
15,000 acres is The Homestead, a 506-room resort that has been
welcoming guests to its mineral springs for more than 200
years.
Changes abound at the property. In 2001, the resort unveiled a
new 14,000-square-foot ballroom and 6,000 square feet of meeting
space, bringing its total to 72,000 square feet. A new pool was
opened, and several guest rooms in the main building were converted
into a suite for small to mid-size groups. The 34,000-square-foot
spa offers signature treatments like the Mountain Laurel Soak or
Allegheny Raspberry Relaxer. Other diversions include three 18-hole
golf courses, guided hikes through Cascades Gorge and hands-on
lessons in falconry.
