  • IN A JUNE SURVEY by the National Business Travel Association, 56 percent of corporate travel professionals said they think it will be 12 months or more before healthy levels of business travel return. When asked what must occur for a turnaround, 56 percent cited reduction in travel costs and 46 percent said improved transportation security procedures.
  • A SAFETY AND SECURITY BEST PRACTICES GUIDE for arenas, stadiums and amphitheaters was released by the International Association of Assembly Managers. Spearheaded by IAAM’s Safety and Security Task Force, the guide is the first in a series to address the protocols of public assembly buildings. Guides to convention centers and performing arts venues are being developed.
  • THE CHICAGO CONVENTION AND TOURISM BUREAU partnered with CityLinkWeb and HotelRevMAX on Citylink, a new software and reporting program that tracks daily occupancy levels citywide.The software allows the CTB and hotels to better understand booking patterns while aiding planners who are flexible with dates.
