Green: Set Out Recycling Containers
Will service staff recycle bottles, cans and loose paper? Sometimes. Take the guesswork out of recycling by asking facilities to provide clearly visible bins or by renting them in your host city.

Greener: Repurpose Trade Show Materials
CONEXPO-CON/AGG, a massive gathering for the construction industry that drew nearly 120,000 attendees earlier this year, worked with Repurpose America, a Las Vegas-based recycling outfit, to turn signage from their convention into a sunshade for a local daycare center. Repurpose America is one of a number of organizations springing up to repurpose waste from convention centers.

Green: Ditch Water Bottles and Mustard Packets
Water served from pitchers and condiments served out of bowls or trays drastically reduce the waste footprint of your meeting.

Greener: Eat Like a Locavore
Incorporating local meats and produce into your menus reduces the carbon footprint of your meeting since the food you serve hasn’t traveled hundreds – or thousands – of miles by truck.
