Off-season tranquility: The Southampton Inn
In the off-season, devoid of summer socialites, Long Island’s
east end recaptures the appeal of its past, as a string of quaint
villages and fishing towns.
One property catering to groups is the 90-room Southampton Inn.
The renovated venue, with 5,580 square feet of meeting space, has
welcomed corporate clients from New York City who choose to meet
closer to home.
Southampton village is tiny and lively, but the outdoors is the
area’s biggest attraction. Visitors can go birding, whale watching
or fishing. Captain Ken Turco is a longtime local who handily
chases schools of fish so participants won’t go home without a
catch.
Event venues include the Parrish Museum, which hosts 500 inside,
amid the art, and 2,000 outdoors.
