Paris is the top international city for meetings and incentives, while Las Vegas reigns supreme in North America, according to Global DMC Partners' 2018 Global Destination Index. The network of independent destination management companies released its top-10 list during IMEX America, which was held last week in Las Vegas. The findings are based on data analysis of more than 6,000 meetings and incentive programs in Global DMC Partners' 500-plus destinations. Following are destinations for this year:
"It is important to us to review this data each year because our industry has an enormous impact on the global economy by bringing millions of people around the world every day," said
Catherine Chaulet, president of Global DMC Partners. "While we want to highlight the top 20 North American and International cities -- which are mostly comprised of top markets that are constantly in demand -- there are also many secondary destinations that didn't make our list, but that fall within the top 10 percent. Destinations in Asia, like Singapore and Hong Kong, and in the United States, such as Nashville, Seattle and Austin, were also in high demand for meetings and incentives occurring in 2018."
The Index also revealed its "hot list" for destinations in 2019, based on interest from meeting planners for programs operating next year, as compared with this year.
