Caesars Entertainment plans to spend $325 million renovating the 450-room Harrah’s New Orleans property. Upon completion in 2024, the casino hotel will be renamed to the Caesars New Orleans.
"We are excited to introduce Caesars New Orleans to the city," said Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment. "As the only land-based gaming operator in the city, we take great pride in our 20-year history in New Orleans, and this reinvestment is a testament to our continued commitment."
The plans, which were presented today in front of the New Orleans Building Corp., include adding a 340-room tower above the existing casino's porte cochere, bringing the total number of rooms to 790. Architectural and design enhancements are expected for both the exterior and interior of the property. The plans also call for new culinary and hospitality offerings in the casino, as well the development of several unoccupied areas on the second floor of the casino.

"We are excited that this expansion will mean hundreds of construction jobs during the project and hundreds more in sustainable and new jobs post-construction. The addition of Caesars New Orleans will strengthen our city’s position as the top cultural and entertainment destination city in the nation."
Harrah's New Orleans offers 21,000 square feet of meetings space and currently has six restaurants, including the Steakhouse New Orleans and the Grande Isle Seafood Restaurant. The 115,000-square-foot casino features more than 3,000 slot machines and 100 table games.
