Orange County's former Fashion Island Hotel will be transformed and reborn as the Pendry Newport Beach, according to officials from Montage International, which owns the Pendry brand, and property owners Eagle Four Partners. When it debuts in the summer of 2023, the hotel will be the third Pendry property in Southern California.
Pendry Newport Beach will have approximately 295 guest rooms, including 82 suites; three food-and-beverage outlets; a fitness center; and more than 14,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including an 8,710-square-foot ballroom. The on-site Spa Pendry will offer eight treatment rooms, and a comprehensive beauty and wellness program. The hotel is a short walk from Fashion Island, a premiere Newport Beach shopping destination.
Heading up the project will be interior design firm Studio Munge, architects WATG and landscape architecture firm Burton Studio. Guest rooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows with balconies or private patios that offer views of the ocean, harbor or bay. The property will offer a poolside lounge with sundeck and cabanas, as well as a private club meant to foster community and offer bespoke experiences to guests.
"It is an absolute thrill and honor to bring our vision for Pendry and new luxury to Newport Beach, the place we call home," said Pendry Hotels & Resorts cofounder and creative director Michael Fuerstman. "Pendry Newport Beach will be a sophisticated, modern and artistic luxury hotel for guests and locals, with an elevated dining, nightlife, wellness and social scene — as well as a wholly original, one-of-a-kind community focused social membership club. We look forward to creating a distinct destination within Newport Beach."
