The Villa del Palmar Beach Resort and Spa at the Islands of Loreto opened last week, on the eastern coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico. The 181-room luxury resort offers studios, as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. A turtle-shaped pool and two restaurants are on-site; tennis courts, an additional restaurant and a 35,000-square-foot fitness center and spa will open this summer. The resort faces Danzante Island and is the first property to open in the Villa Group's planned 1,800-acre development known as Danzante Bay. Six more resort hotels, 240 home sites, additional restaurants and a Rees Jones golf course are planned.
