The Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley, Ariz., is entering a new chapter with a transition to independent ownership and plans for a multimillion-dollar propertywide renovation.
Under a partnership between local firms Berger Holdings and RJ Hospitality, the 110-key luxury resort will undergo a phased transformation beginning next summer. The first phase will include a comprehensive renovation of all guest rooms and casitas, to be completed by September 2027. A second phase, scheduled for 2028, will focus on enhancements to the resort's food-and-beverage venues and the 12,000-square-foot Sanctuary Spa.

Their commitment ensures that every investment strengthens the care, character and world-class service our neighbors and loyal guests have cherished for decades."
The resort has selected Hart Howerton as architect and designer for the project.
Meetings facilities already refreshed
The announcement follows a recent $7 million renovation of the property's meetings facilities. On 53 acres at the base of Camelback Mountain, the resort features 110 rooms, casitas and suites, eight private villas and multiple dining venues. Options for events range from the 3,851-square-foot Views Ballroom to scenic event spaces overlooking Camelback Mountain and Paradise Valley, as well as several executive boardrooms and private venues. Planners also have access to full-service catering, customized group experiences and dedicated conference-services support.
The ownership group said the investment reflects a long-term commitment to preserving the resort's position as a leading luxury destination in Paradise Valley and the greater Phoenix market.
